In the winter months, we receive more questions on how to deal with dry and itchy scalp. If you don't live in an area with winter months that can wreak havoc on the scalp, consider yourself lucky :). During the winter months, the air can dry out the scalp. To make matters worse, the temporary relief of scratching can damage the scalp.

You may be wondering: what can I do? Combating and treating dry scalp can sometimes be simple. Here are a few tips:

  1. Make sure your Sweet Pea is getting enough water intake. In addition to water, consuming fruits and vegetables with high water content is key. Examples include cucumbers, celery, strawberries, carrots and peaches.
  2. Protective styles with well-moisturized hair protect the scalp from unfavorable weather conditions.
  3. Avoid applying heat to her hair. When you absolutely must use heat, set the temperature as low as possible.
  4. Keep her hair and scalp hydrated and moisturized.

A dry and itchy scalp is enough to frustrate anyone, but these tips can begin relieving that frustration.
